I shared this video with my dear friend Johnny Laird on Twitter yesterday and thought it was well worth sharing here on the blog as well.
“I’m a Christian, so I do think he’s wrong… but I do love the challenge.”
Some great points from Dr. West.
“There is a difference between rational certainty and blessed assurance… blessed assurance is making a leap of faith, stepping out on nothing and landing on something.” Continue reading Cornel West on the Late Late Show
We weren’t expecting much snow (if any) this year – but we were pleasantly surprised by a nice covering of snow yesterday afternoon.
Rough estimate, I’d say we received 2-3 inches in our neck of the woods — perhaps more in some areas.
I shot some video of the #snowpocalypse on my Flip Ultra HD and then Laurie also shot some video on her iPhone 4. It was interesting to see the contrast in how each camera handled the white balance.
When I was a teenager, my dad would often wake me with a jovial rendition of songs about how wonderful a day it was and how we should be thankful for everything and how beautiful the sky was…etc., etc., etc.
You get the picture?
They were just the sort of songs you don’t want sung to you when you’re NOT a morning person and you’re trying to sleep until the very last minute possible.
It makes me smile when my boys give me reactions similar to what I gave my dad, whenever I wake them from their morning stupor and start changing their diaper (IDiddy especially).
My only fear is that I’ll come in one morning and they’ll try and zing me by quoting a Proverb like…
If anyone loudly blesses their neighbor early in the morning, it will be taken as a curse. (Prov. 27:14)
…because I’ll doubt I’ll be able to fire back another zinger as fast as my dad did about being a lazy sluggard.
How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? (Prov. 6:9)
The craving of a sluggard will be the death of him, because his hands refuse to work. (Prov. 21:25)
YouVersion just doesn’t work that fast on my phone.
I’ve got a longer write up on We Live Simply today but as an overview…

If you’re making the move from del.icio.us to Pinboard.in you may be encouraging your blog readers to do the same (and I definitely encourage you to make the switch if you haven’t already).
And if that’s the case, why not add a “share this” link on your WordPress posts?
Since Pinboard.in is modeled after the first version of del.icio.us API, the share this link is fairly similar to del.icio.us.
To add a link for Pinboard.in, simply add this code to your single.php file in your WordPress theme:
<a href="http://pinboard.in/add?showtags=yes&url=<?php the_permalink() ?>&title=<?php the_title(); ?>&description=<?php the_excerpt(); ?>" title="Bookmark this on Pinboard.in" target="_blank">Bookmark this on Pinboard.in</a>
If you want, you can always replace the text “Bookmark this on Pinboard.in” with a graphic or other text, like I’ve done below.
And of course, if you like this post, be sure and Bookmark it on Pinboard 🙂
We caught IDiddy in an unusually happy mood yesterday afternoon before his 1 p.m. feeding.
Had to catch it on video and share…
He’s a great baby (they both are), but you can tell his reflux and feeding issues really affect him. He’s calm, quiet and loves to smile, except for during his flareups.
To combat his issues…
We have him on two doses of Zantac (1 mL each dose).
Two doses of Prevacid Solutabs (7.5 mL each dose).
He’s eating Elecare (a lactose free, amino-acid based, hypo-allergenic, expensive formula) with each feeding.
We’re adding a tablespoon of rice cereal to each 5 oz. bottle.
