I’ve really been enjoying the U2/South African mashup videos during ESPN’s coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The videos feature footage from U2’s Rose Bowl concert last year, mashed up with the Soweto Gospel Choir.

Billboard.com reported earlier this year…

After teaming with ESPN for its coverage of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, Bono pulled aside ESPN senior director of sports marketing Seth Ader and said, “This is just a warm-up for the one that really matters: South Africa.”

One of my favorites so far has been the Get On Your Boots mashup…

Travis Ranch HOA

Neighborhood pool in Travis Ranch | Photo by Jonathan Blundell

Well, we’ve moved… in case you missed that bit of news.

We’ve moved to Travis Ranch in Forney, Texas (aka Kaufman County Municipal Utility District No. 6).

It’s a beautiful, growing neighborhood, that’s part of a 1,600-2000 (depending on which news article or website you’re looking at) acre master planned community.

The neighborhood offers several great amenities, including an inline skating hockey rink, a pool, splash park and several playgrounds.

There are also plans for retail development and a marina to be added at some point in the future — just haven’t found a good site for detailed information on those additions.

We’ve already enjoyed the pool a few times, as well as walking the “trail” along the main roadway. I’m sure all the amenities, including the neighborhood elementary school (which is less than .5 a mile from our home) will be even more beneficial once the twins arrive.

But me being nosy like I am, I’ve been trying to find out as much as I can about the HOA, the full plans for the development and the Municipal Utility District we’re a part of.

Amazon Wireless is live

Shameless advertisement post…

I received an e-mail earlier this week announcing that AmazonWireless is now “live.”

I’ve already used the service during it’s earlier beta stage and loved it!

I purchased a brand new Blackberry Curve 8900 for $50, when AT&T wanted $199. (It’s now $.01 with a two-year AT&T contract.)

AmazonWireless is a new website by Amazon.com that offers cell phones and wireless plans, easy shopping without rebate hassles, and FREE two-day shipping.

AmazonWireless makes it easy for customers to upgrade their phone if they already have a plan, or if they want to establish new cell phone service, has tried to make it simple to find the right phone, service plan, and options.

Customers can shop for phones by carrier, phone feature, price, color, and brand. The site’s shopping cart will guide them through each stage of the purchase process, where they’ll find familiar Amazon features like bestseller lists, detailed product descriptions, and customer reviews.

A few things I loved about the site..

  • First and foremost – the great pricing.
  • Secondly, the free shipping.
  • And third, you can shop for phones on AT&T, Verizon or T-Mobile all on one easy to use site.

Now if only they had an easy/cheap way to buy unlocked Android phones, we’d really be in business….

Just as a reminder, the ads and links to products on my website are most often affiliate links, meaning if you click on the links and make a purchase, you’re helping support my blogging habit. I’m aware that ads can be annoying and misleading, so promise to work hard and only advertise and/or link to products and businesses I personally support.
