I used to think I listened to a broad range of music — but after working up a list of my favorite songs from 2009, either my preferred listening tastes are getting more defined — or perhaps 2009 just wasn’t a great year for new music. (Feel free to offer up your own theories.)

Ten spots filled by six different artists. It’s not as diverse as some, but it’s my list and what I’ve been enjoying this year.

Honorable mention:
Knights Of Cydonia – Muse :: this track came out in 2006, but I didn’t find it (or them really) until I saw them open for U2 in Houston. My Muse station has now become one of my favorite stations on Pandora and this track quickly became one of my favorite tracks. See the video on Hulu.

The 360° Tour, which has been critically acclaimed and ‘re-invents rock’n’roll’ (Rolling Stone Magazine), will now boast unique access for fans worldwide – as fans in territories yet to be visited by the tour, or not at all, will be able to enjoy the whole show online.

Bono and the Irresistible Revolution

I just finished reading Shane Claiborne’s book “The Irresistible Revolution – living as an ordinary radical.”

It was a great read. Inspiring and insightful and I would argue like Brandt Russo – its a must read for any and all who want to find new meaning in what it means to follow Jesus Christ.

Towards the end of the book, Shane begins to wrap up the text with a chapter entitled, “Crazy but not alone.”

I’ve been chewing on these thoughts today and laughing at some of the humor as well. And as I’ve chewed on the ideas, I can’t help but wonder if Bono’s a fan of Shane’s as well.
