U2 streaming live on YouTube

U2 in Houston, Texas Oct. 2009 :: I'll go Crazy if I Don't Go Crazy Tonight

This Sunday — Get on Your Boots — U2 will be streaming the final U.S. concert from this leg of the 360 World Tour live on YouTube.

From U2.com:

The Rose Bowl show is the penultimate U2 show this year – with more to come in 2010 – and already is set to host the venue’s biggest ever audience of over 96,000 fans. The 360° Tour, which has been critically acclaimed and ‘re-invents rock’n’roll’ (Rolling Stone Magazine), will now boast unique access for fans worldwide – as fans in territories yet to be visited by the tour, or not at all, will be able to enjoy the whole show online.

Working on a new WordPress theme

Wordpress theme - rockband orange - front page

Over the weekend I started working up some mock-ups (demos) for a new web design for some friends.

I don’t know that they’ll use what I originally came up with, but thought I’d keep working it and turn it into a full WordPress theme.

Right now I’m calling it Rockband, but I plan on changing the name to something a bit more clever before I release it into the wild.

Cool shows coming to town

Jamie Cullum is extending his US tour and will be playing in Dallas and Houston in May.

Jamie will play May 14 at the Gypsy Tea Room in Dallas and May 15 at Warehouse Live in Houston.

I’ve already got my tickets to the show. I’m stoked. His show in Austin last time through was easily one of the top 3 live shows I’ve been to and I missed him at SXSW this year.

Monk and Neagle will also be in Fort Worth March 26 at TCU for Praise Fest.

This guy voted for Pedro..

“Just tell them if they vote for Pedro – all their wildest dreams will come true.”

A UT student got the chance to play onstage with U2 in Dallas Saturday night. Lucky.

Playing quarterback for your favorite team. Rocking out with your favorite band. These are the dreams that fill a teenage boy’s heart.
Sunjay Devarajan, 19, traded sunglasses with Bono after joining U2 on guitar Saturday.
Of course, most boys don’t think they’ll ever actually realize those fantasies. But as 19-year-old Sunjay Devarajan strapped on a guitar next to Bono, The Edge and the rest of U2 on Saturday night in front of 20,000 screaming fans at American Airlines Center, his teen dream took life right before his eyes.
“This is like a Make-a-Wish Foundation kind of dream,” said Arlington native Sunjay, a day after Bono plucked him from the crowd to play the band’s “Angel of Harlem.” “I’m just so thrilled that they gave me that opportunity. That they were adventurous enough to actually pick somebody that they had no idea who he was from the audience and have him play guitar.”
