12 Microworkouts

Neila Rey has a great infographic with 12 microworkouts to do throughout the day to keep yourself active.

  1. Do calf raises while brushing your teeth
  2. Do leg raises while watching TV
  3. Do standing leg raises while making food or waiting for it to be microwaved
  4. Walk around while talking on the phone
  5. When leaving the house stretch out and reach for or touch the door frame
  6. Stand up while reading the news or checking on memes
  7. Do 5 squats every time you load a game or during every re-spawn
  8. Do half-jacks while the kettle boils water
  9. Stand on one leg while waiting for someone or something like a bus
  10. Set an alert to get up and walk around every hour for 1 minute.
  11. Do 10 forward lunges during TV commercials or YouTube ads
  12. Start your day with news or memes while doing a plank

These are all easy and doable – just need to remember to do them.

Looking at the list, I tend to have the most problems with #7. I’ve tried this with apps and my Jawbone Up – but once I get in a groove of working on a project it’s really hard for me to interrupt my workflow to do anything – mainly because it takes 15-20 minutes to get back in the rhythm.

I also tend to add DDP Diamond Cutters throughout the day to stretch my back and will often throw in a couple more yoga positions while playing with the kids from time to time.

What do you do to stay active throughout the day?

Biblically fit

Just how far and seriously are you going to take your faith?

My weight, eating habits are one area I keep falling down on. Over the last 3 years I’ve lost close to 30 lbs., but I still have a good 20 lbs to go and I’m still stuck in the same rut/spot.

But maybe this will help inspire me… from Tripp Fuller’s Doctor

“it’s hard to consume 2000 more calories than you need and large amounts of meat that took even more energy to produce when our sisters and brothers in Christ are starving around the world.”

I missed the gym on Saturday and yesterday due to other things on my schedule – better do everything I can to get back to the gym tonight – and better get me a new workout strap for my Zune so I have some motivation while I’m working out.

Maybe I should put the photo that really kicked start my weight loss a few years back on my Zune as well. Let me tell you – I was a fatty McFatty.

I don’t have that photo online yet – but here’s a photo just a few months before the other one was taken:
