The wonder of birth

This is pretty amazing:

Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
you formed me in my mother’s womb.
I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared before I’d even lived one day.
Psalm 139:13-16

A day of mixed emotions

Amy E. Blundell (Dec. 2004)

Some days you wake up not knowing how you should feel.

Today is one of those days.

Six years ago today, around 1 or 2 in the afternoon, I received a phone call that changed my life forever.

My sister Amy had passed away.

As C.S. Lewis said about the death of a close loved one – it’s like an amputation. You never get over it. You don’t out grow it. You don’t get used to it. You just learn to live without it.

Today’s the day!

In a few short hours we expect to see both our boys!

H-Diddy and I-Diddy are expected to be born by C-Section a little later today and we can’t wait!

To celebrate – (since I can’t buy you all a cigar) I’ve got a special discount code for my novel – St. Peter’s Brewery that will give you 50% off the cover price.

Or think of it as an opportunity to buy one – get one to give away for FREE.

Simply order the book from CreateSpace and use the code: 3YK4MGUP for 50% off the cover price.

The discount code will be available now till the end of the month (Oct. 31) — and works for on as many books as you choose to order — so get your orders in quickly.

We’ll keep folks posted throughout the day in the usual ways – Twitter, Flickr and perhaps our blogs and YouTube.

Finding peace

After two years or waiting, praying, hoping, wishing, frustration, and anger we’ve found peace in an unexpected way — even after we had essentially given up.

We’re excited to share this photo with you, taken earlier today…

Do you see what we see?!

TWINS!

We’re expecting the Blundy Babies to make their appearance before Nov 10th.

Laurie’s got a great post up on her blog as well.

And for fun updates, you can follow @blundybabies on Twitter or send a text with “follow blundybabies” to 40404.

Our storm

Well, to update everyone on “the baby project”, sadly there are still no real updates to report.

Laurie does have another great post over on her blog (which inspired this one), that touches on many of things we’re thinking about/struggling through.

I did have the unique experience of getting to have a test of my own last week at the doctor’s office.

(TMI alert after the jump ::)

Life’s roller coasters

Laurie’s shared a very open, honest post over on her blog – that I’d say is probably one of the most open an honest things I’ve seen her write. I’m so proud of her for writing it and sharing it.
