A call to Ubuntu

…the call to transcend and include is a call that comes from the Holy Spirit, in whom all of us live, move and have our being. So we cannot escape. We can throw a temper tantrum. We can sit in the corner and pout. We can cower in the closet in fear. But then we hear music from another room playing faintly. Gradually, eventually, we are enticed and magnatized by the Spirit’s jazz, and we have to come out of our closet and dance, to join in the unending improvisation and lively rhythm of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Beautiful stories

For those of you who don’t subscribe to our podcast, you’re missing out!

Not because of our savvy production skills or Thomas and Stewart’s great accents — but because of the amazing stories we get to share each and every week.

We’ve just published our sixth episode of our third “season.”

Here’s a run down of the stories we’ve shared so far in 2010:

David Timothy – Dallas SoupMan
William Stanger – Salvation Army Officer in Canada
Charles Lee – justice and compassion issues, co-founder of JustOne
Pernell Goodyear – Salvation Army Officer in Canada (part 1 and 2)
Jonathan Merritt – Why creation care matters

If you have’t subscribed, simply click here and all the new episodes will be downloaded every time you use iTunes — or you can subscribe to our regular RSS feed in your favorite reader as well.

Also, in case you missed it, my buddy Chad interviewed me over on Homebrewed Christianity about my novel. Really enjoyed it and was honored to be invited on as a guest.

Welcome to February

February 2010 wall calendar ~ happy valentine's day ~

Welcome to February!

Well, not quite I suppose — depending on when you read this.

But a few things to look forward to this month:

  • It’s Black History Month & the DCCCD African American Read-In
  • My sister Kara turns 25
  • Valentines Day
  • I turn 31
  • We’re scheduled to close on our new house in Forney at the end of the month…. YIKES! We still need a solid contract on our house!!!!

And a few things to look back on — aka the top posts from January 2010.

Honorable mention:
Top songs of 2009 – This was actually one of the top 5 viewed posts for the month, but it didn’t make the official list since I wrote it on Dec. 29, 2009 — it’s sooo last year 🙂

Did you miss any of those? Were there other favorites that didn’t make the list?

What would you like to see more of?

Here’s to more great conversations in 2010!
