What’s happening in Hay Springs?

So I was nosing around geocaching.com today and found out about webcam caches.
Very cool. Basically you go find the webcam and either connect to the Internet with a Wi-Fi device and record a picture of you waving to the camera – or ask someone at home to record the picture.
Found out there’s a webcam on Main Street in Hay Springs, Nebraska where my Uncle Marvin lives.
I’m waiting to see if he ever shows up – I may be waiting a long time.
Either way – always fun to see what’s going on around the world.

Latest bin Laden video a fake?

I haven’t seen this covered anywhere else, but just noticed an article on Booman Tribune (thanks to Digg) suggests the latest bin Laden video is a fake after the video freezes from 1:58 to 12:30, while the audio continues.

Osama Bin Laden’s widely publicized video address to the American people has a peculiarity that casts serious doubt on its authenticity: the video freezes at about 1 minute and 36 58 seconds, and motion only resumes again at 12:30. The video then freezes again at 14:02 remains frozen until the end. All references to current events, such as the 62nd anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombing of Japan, and Sarkozy and Brown being the leaders of France and the UK, respectively, occur when the video is frozen! The words spoken when the video is in motion contain no references to contemporary events and could have been (and likely were) made before the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

Wonder why ABC News, the CIA and others either refused to report his, ignored it or if someone else produced a different video with the video frozen.

From UMHB:

Belton, TX – The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football team accomplished a variety of goals in the 2007 season opener. Huckabee on NPR’s “Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me”

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee was on NPR’s “Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me” this weekend.

Great intro from Peter, WWDTM’s host, “What makes you think a kid from Hope, Arkansas and then the governor of a small obscure state like Arkansas could ever be president?”
“Well you know it’s been tried before,” Huckabee responded. “Some people aren’t sure it turned out so well so we’re going to give it one more try.”

Huckabee was great and very, very personable. Really showed off his personality. He seemed to have a great time and talked about his weight loss as well as his pardoning of Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones.

Huckabee answered questions for listener Sally Powell of Toronto, Canada, and Huckabee quickly pointed out she couldn’t even vote for him.

He answered questions on the Edsel car introduced by Ford 50 years ago and correctly answered 2 out of 3 questions correctly.

Huckabee’s portion of the show comes at 18:20 into the program. You can listen to the entire show here.

Got to brag on my life

Laurie put together a video for encounter’s two year anniversary this morning.
Unfortunately she was working in the nursery and didn’t get to see it played on the “encounter jumbotron.”
But she did a great job picking out photos that really highlighted the message we were looking for.
The band played the song, “And Now my Lifesong Sings” and we displayed the words over the bottom 1/4 of the video with MediaShout, similar to what we do with most other songs.

Here’s the video with Casting Crown’s recording of the song:
