Weekly menu (1.24.10)

Last week we were pretty far off when it came to sticking to our menu. Various things came up in the evening that changed our plans — but we still managed to avoid eating out the majority of the week.

So, without further rambling — here’s our weekly menu for this week..

Weekly menu (1.18.10)

Setting our our weekly menu in advance has been a God-send this year. Sure it takes a little time on the weekend (or Monday morning) but it saves us so much time later in the week trying to figure out what to cook. It’s also helping us save money because we’re less likely to get frustrated, give up and go out to eat when nothing comes to mind.

So here’s this week’s menu…

Monday Dinner
Spaghetti

Tuesday Dinner
Flautas and beans

Wednesday Dinner
Crockpot Chicken Tacos

Thursday Dinner
Meatballs and Rice

Friday Dinner
Beef Lasagna (prepackaged mix)

Saturday Dinner:
Small group

So what are you having for dinner this week?

Use this as a challenge to come up with your own menu and then share it with the rest of us.

Weekly menu (1.10.10)

A day late and it looks like this week will be fairly light on leftovers (which means bring on the sandwiches for lunch). We expect to be getting home later than normal on Tuesday night for sure – thus the quick and easy corn dogs.

Monday Dinner
Tacos (ground beef)

Tuesday Dinner
Corny Dogs

Wednesday Dinner
Pot Roast and Mashed Potatoes

Thursday Dinner
Frozen Pizza
Corn

Friday Dinner
Dinner with friends

Saturday Dinner

And for those of you who are interested, we’ve found a couple keepers over the last two weeks.

Southwestern Turkey Chili (a lot like Taco Soup)

And

Beefy Cheesy Pasta (similar to the boxed meat and pasta meals without the dry cheese/seasoning package)

So what are you planning to eat this week?

Weekly Meal Menu

Ingredients needed

We’re trying a new practice around Casa de Blundell. Trying to get back to planning ahead more and cooking more at home. I’ve volunteered to do the planning and cooking. So here’s the first week. (Probably a little different schedule than normal due to continued holiday/birthday events.)
Ultimately my goal is to try and reduce all the different things we buy – and have enough left overs for lunches the next day.

Sunday Lunch:
Spaghetti
Rolls/bread
Sunday Dinner:
Sandwiches/Cereal (can you guess who’ll be eating what?)
Monday Dinner
Southwestern Turkey Chili
Tuesday Dinner
Rosemary Scented Grilled Chicken
Salad
Wednesday Lunch
Chicken salad (using leftovers from the night before)
Wednesday Dinner
Out to Eat/TSO Concert
Thursday Dinner
Chicken & Chipotle Soup
Friday Dinner
Birthday Parties
Saturday Dinner
Small group

So what do you think? What does your menu look like for next week? Got any pointers for future menus? Especially for a family of 2?

Oh and for the record, while this wasn’t built using the site, HEB has one of the best weekly meal planners — EVER. Granted much of it is based around their products (including several partially prepared meats/meals) but its a great resource even if you’re not near an HEB.
