If you’re anything like me, your schedule can be either be one of the greatest aids in your day, or one of the biggest detriments in my day.

If we’re not careful our schedule can easily keep us away from the things that really matter to us.

But before we continue, take a moment and consider what really matters to you.

No, really!

Stop reading this blog post and make a list of 4 or 5 things that matter most to you.

Look for me during the Olympics

Just got an update on when some of the new DCCCD commercials will run…

Television Schedule — This year’s campaign kicks off with new English and Spanish television commercials starting July 14 and running through August 17 on channels 4, 5, 8, 11, 21, 27, 33 and Time Warner Cable. Our target market for television is the 18-to-49 age group, so our commercials will run during a broad range of programming, from early morning and 10 p.m. news and sports (targeted to older adults) to the Comedy Channel and sitcoms targeted to 18-to-34 year olds. Our Spanish language commercials will appear in news, entertainment and sports programming on channels 23, 26, 29 and 39.

New this year — We have purchased a 2008 Olympics package on local NBC affiliate KXAS-TV, Channel 5. We will have a commercial running during the opening ceremonies on Friday night, August 8, and then six spots on the two weekends of the games — three per weekend.

I’m in one of the spots twice – see if you can find me.

Things in the fire…

Well, haven’t posted much the last few days. Sorry about that — been busy with other things in the fire.

Laurie had her sinus surgery yesterday to repair her deviated septum, and give her some relief from a sinus infection she’s had for nearly four months now. Yikes! All went well, the surgery lasted between 1.5 and 2 hours yesterday and we left the surgery center a couple hours later.

She’s been resting and recovering since then at home and I’ve been able to play “nurse” to some extent.
“Not a lot of male nurses are their Focker?” (sorry, random Meet the Parents quote).

Luckily I was able to work from home today so that made things a lot easier, rather than heading off to work and hoping she would be Ok today. I’ve been helping her when I can and working on several random projects I’ve been putting off to some extent.

Hopefully I’ll be able to have everything done by this weekend – if not before.

  • …finally finished uploading over 1700 photos to Flickr for the CWF.
  • …added several new videos to GodTube as well. I’m not a big fan of GodTube myself, but folks requested we add some of the CWF videos there now as well.
  • …plan to add several more videos to GodTube and probably YouTube.
  • …hope to build a new light box for our lights at encounter.
  • …hope to finish a keepsake box I started for Laurie as a wedding gift (long story there…)
  • …plan to launch the new encounterthis.com around midnight tonight if not before. We’ve been working on numerous design ideas and layouts since Dec. 2007 and I think we’re finally ready to launch.
  • …tomorrow is a men’s event for SniperInstinct – a cool blending of outdoor paintball and laser tag.
  • …finish updating the HTML files for various degree plans for work. Hoped to get more done today but found it easy to get sidetracked with so many other things on my mind.

I think that’s about it for now – we’ll see just how far I get.
