Homebrewed Christianity

My buddy Chad Crawford has started a new blog and podcast on the world wide interweb.

home brewed Christianity

“Home brewed Christianity is Christianity that’s made at home. It’s good and it’s delicious. It can be a little dark sometimes, it can be a little bitter sometimes. But that’s what we look for in our Christianity. This is not corporate Christianity. This is stuff that we make ourselves that we enjoy.”

Christianity and beer. Some might not like the combination, but I think it’s great.

I’m listening to their original/test podcast – sounds like they’re using blogtalkradio.com or something similar and one of the guys is breathing a little heavy into the phone – but I’m looking forward to seeing what Chad and his friend Tripp talk about.

Podcasting

effective web ministry notes has an interesting entry on podcasting and its future.

I think this could be the next big thing.

How long will it be before churches begin podcasting services or Bible studies to shut-ins or people traveling?

How great would it be to be traveling with your family during the summer, take a break at a restaurant with Wi-Fi access, or even from your hotel room, and in the process download a podcast of your church’s Sunday morning service for you and your family to listen to as you continue your travel down the road.

With former MTV VJ and podcast founder Adam Curry giving podcasting a huge push and Sirius Radio giving Curry a four hour program to push podcasting — it’s coming.

How will we as Christians take advantage of it and use it to further the Kingdom of Heaven?

What other ways do you see podcasting being used to present the gospel in new relevant ways?

I’m excited and hope I can be on the frontlines.

So I gave in

So I gave in. I got myself a blog. I’ve been fighting this for some time, and I don’t really know why. Maybe it was because I hate fads — even though I love being on the cutting edge of everything. Is it just me or is that really ironic?

And despite what it may look like, this is actually my first posting on this blog. All the earlier entries are simply postings of my old columns that people seem to want to continue to read.

Anyways, I’ll start posting my weekly columns/random thoughts and maybe a podcast in the future.

I’m very intrigued by the whole podcast idea.

I’m sure I’ll jump on that bandwagon as soon as I can find enough content to post a weekly show (sounds like my dream of writing a book). There’s so much I want to do — and so little time and content.

UPDATE: Visit www.somethingbeautifulpodcast.com to see what’s come of this.

Well, so there you have it. I’m live in the blog world.

Peace!
