Three questions with Shaun Groves

As I wrote a couple of weeks ago, Shaun Groves has a new album coming it — Third World Symphony. It’s sweetness!

The album drops Aug. 30, but you can listen to the entire album here and pre-order your own copy of musical greatness here.

And being the gracious guy that Shaun is (I mean how many other artists stream their entire album online two months before it’s released), Shaun offered to take some time to answer three questions for any bloggers out there that were interested (hint, he’ll answer questions for your blog as well) — so naturally, I had to take him up on it. Here’s what he had to say:

Interviews with Shaded Red and Jars of Clay

Tuesday night I came across a couple sweet cassette tapes while sorting through and trying to archive some of my old audio tapes.

The first one is audio from my days with Lighthouse 21 (KVTT 91.7 and KTPW 89.7) and the second was an air check tape from my KEOM 88.5 days).

What’s so special about The Lighthouse 21 tape is that it has two of my first “real” interviews — the first with John Roberts of Shaded Red and the second with Dan, Charlie and Matt of Jars of Clay.

The interviews took place Sept. 26, 1999 (aka almost 11 years ago – wow!), at an outdoor concert both bands were performing at (along with Plumb) here in the Megaplex.

Now I know there are some who could care less about these tapes — but for me, it was definitely a highlight of my time with Lighthouse 21. Sure, it wasn’t Sting or U2 — but these were fairly big names in the CCM market at the time.

And this first interview with John Roberts led to a follow-up interview with both John and Jamie of Shaded Red later on and led to me bringing them to perform at UMHB while I was in charge of the UMHB Concert Company.

So without further ado… here are my interviews…

Five questions with Theresa Seeber

Everyone has a story. What’s yours?

Theresa Seeber

What does an average day look like for you?

An average day for me starts with one or more of three very cute, small children climbing into the bed with me to wake me up with a cuddle. How sweet is that? I spend the first part of my day homeschooling these same three little ones. They range in age from 3 to 8, so schooling still involves a lot of fun and games. Growing up, my favorite thing to do was to go to school, and the only job I’ve ever seriously considered (and went to college to train for) is a school teacher. So, homeschooling is a sort of dream come true for me. My oldest (15) will be starting high school in a week! Amazing.

Wetoku – video interviews on the cheap

My first two videos with wetoku.com

Just found out about wetoku.com, via @charlestlee.

Its a simple video chat service (similar to TokBox), but geared specifically towards bloggers wanting to do video interviews and RECORD THEM!

I signed up for an invite today and got a response almost instantly.

I tried it out here at the office to see how easy and practical it might be to use – and it turns out its both of those.
