Latest bin Laden video a fake?

I haven’t seen this covered anywhere else, but just noticed an article on Booman Tribune (thanks to Digg) suggests the latest bin Laden video is a fake after the video freezes from 1:58 to 12:30, while the audio continues.

Osama Bin Laden’s widely publicized video address to the American people has a peculiarity that casts serious doubt on its authenticity: the video freezes at about 1 minute and 36 58 seconds, and motion only resumes again at 12:30. The video then freezes again at 14:02 remains frozen until the end. All references to current events, such as the 62nd anniversary of the U.S. atomic bombing of Japan, and Sarkozy and Brown being the leaders of France and the UK, respectively, occur when the video is frozen! The words spoken when the video is in motion contain no references to contemporary events and could have been (and likely were) made before the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

Wonder why ABC News, the CIA and others either refused to report his, ignored it or if someone else produced a different video with the video frozen.

Huckabee on NPR’s “Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me”

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee was on NPR’s “Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me” this weekend.

Great intro from Peter, WWDTM’s host, “What makes you think a kid from Hope, Arkansas and then the governor of a small obscure state like Arkansas could ever be president?”
“Well you know it’s been tried before,” Huckabee responded. “Some people aren’t sure it turned out so well so we’re going to give it one more try.”

Huckabee was great and very, very personable. Really showed off his personality. He seemed to have a great time and talked about his weight loss as well as his pardoning of Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones.

Huckabee answered questions for listener Sally Powell of Toronto, Canada, and Huckabee quickly pointed out she couldn’t even vote for him.

He answered questions on the Edsel car introduced by Ford 50 years ago and correctly answered 2 out of 3 questions correctly.

Huckabee’s portion of the show comes at 18:20 into the program. You can listen to the entire show here.

This Election Cannot Be About Electability

This Election Cannot Be About Electability
by Dr. Laurence White

After months of coy flirting and media maneuvering former Tennessee Senator Fred Thompson has finally admitted that he is running for president. He made it official – in a manner completely consistent with his style over substance approach to date – on the Jay Leno Show rather than the New Hampshire Presidential Candidate Debate held the same night. CNN reports today that on his first official day of campaigning in Iowa the core of his pitch was electability – he’s the man who can beat Hillary Clinton. (CNN “Thompson: I Can Stop Hillary Clinton” Thursday, September 6th, 2007) My response, as a Christian conservative who is deeply concerned about the future of this country, is “So wha t?” Beating Hillary Clinton is not good enough at this critical moment in America’s history. Thirty-four years into an abortion holocaust that has produced the slaughter of nearly fifty million defenseless infants we need more than an election victory. We need to transform American culture and put an end to abortion.

Why aren’t more people signing up?

bin Laden is encouraging Americans to give up their own faith and follow Islam.

“To conclude,” bin Laden says, “I invite you to embrace Islam.” He goes on to say: “There are no taxes in Islam, but rather there is a limited Zakaat [alms] totaling 2.5 percent.”

I guess if you’re Muslim you don’t have to pay taxes anymore? Maybe I’m missing something.
Either way, with that kind of argument I don’t know why more people aren’t signing up.

Thanks to DMN for the heads up
