Our storm

Well, to update everyone on “the baby project”, sadly there are still no real updates to report.

Laurie does have another great post over on her blog (which inspired this one), that touches on many of things we’re thinking about/struggling through.

I did have the unique experience of getting to have a test of my own last week at the doctor’s office.

(TMI alert after the jump ::)

Give them away…

Been chewing on this idea and quote from Shane Claiborne’s book “The Irresistible Revolution”

Thought I’d do some quick word art (with my favorite font currently – sketch rockwell) to illustrate it.

Anyone seen this play out in their own life?

Buy our house video podcast (episode 1)

Thought we’d try a little short “video podcast” to highlight some of the great things about our house. We’ll try and post one at least once a week until the house sells (so in reality, we hope this will be our only one).

I shot this on my Blackberry Curve 8900 last night and pieced it together a little later. Its just a quick easy video podcast that will hopefully draw some more attention to our house.

But to begin with, we would love your advice on how to better stage our dining room. Watch the short video and then share your thoughts in the comment section below or via e-mail: house (at) casadeblundell (dot) com.

Find out more here.

Let us know what you think – both about the question we raise in the video – and about the video podcast idea.

Red Oak home for sale :: Buy our house

We’re moving (well hopefully). We’re hoping to move to Forney/Mesquite area in order to be closer to our families.

If only we could take our house with us :-(.

our home

But since we can’t – we want you (or your friends or family or whomever) to buy it!

You’ll love it!

Check it out and then share with everyone!

Just some highlights I love about the house…

  • 3/2/2 Home in a great quiet neighborhood.
  • Home is only two years old.
  • Just 20 miles south of downtown Dallas.
  • Quick and easy access to I-35E.
  • Grocery store and other shopping within walking distance.
  • Backs up to city easement (no neighbors along back fence).
  • Great DR Horton home.

My thoughts on church buildings

church trespassing

I shared this on Twitter/Facebook Monday night:

RT @emergentvillage @jeannemstevens: Churches hold $28B in mortgage debt. That amt could provide clean H20 to 1.4 billion ppl for 20 yrs.

I received a couple questions and comments so I thought I’d share my response and comments here as well. I hope you keep in mind that these are my thoughts and I don’t expect you to relate to God in the same way I do. For some, church buildings hold deep value and worth and are literal sanctuaries where they can come and meet with God – however for me… well you can read my thoughts below :-).

The gospel and the poor according to Tim Keller

I’ve shared this on Twitter, Friendfeed and Facebook but it’s worth sharing here again as well.

It’s not the bite size 11 minutes like Rob Bell’s video from last week, but its a great extended discussion on what the gospel is — and the effect it should have on our lives.

Tim’s message goes till 44 min in and then its Q&A for the remainder.
