30 day song challenge

Catch up… The 30 Day Song Challenge

30 day song challenge

Time for a little weekend catch up…

day 15 – a song that describes you
day 16 – a song that you used to love but now hate
day 17 – a song that you hear often on the radio

Let’s start with

Day 15 – a song that describes you.

Perhaps I’m too sexy?

And everyone around the world said, “Yeah, Riiiigggghhhht.”

Seriously, I think the song that describes me today is Breathe by U2.

Every day I die again, and again I’m reborn
Every day I have to find the courage
To walk out into the street
With arms out
Got a love you can’t defeat

Neither down or out
There’s nothing you have that I need
I can breathe
Breathe now

Walk out, into the sunburst street
Sing your heart out, sing my heart out
I’ve found grace inside a sound
I found grace, it’s all that I found
And I can breathe

Breathe now

day 16 – a song that you used to love but now hate

Again, hate is such a strong word (that I hate ;-)).

But for the sake of the challenge – I’m going to say I used to love the song Heart of Worship… and now it drives me batty every time I hear it. (Not any particular version of it – just the song in general.)

Perhaps it goes back to my sister’s comment a number of years back — “How come we have to keep coming back to the heart of worship? Why can’t we just stay there?” 🙂

Or it’s the fact that it was so overplayed for a number of years that it just gets under my skin now.

Either way… the first 200 times I heard it – I loved it. Now it drives me nuts.

day 17 – a song that you hear often on the radio

I don’t listen to a lot of music on the radio. If I’m in the car by myself, it’s usually tuned to NPR.

The last time I listened to local top 40 radio was probably when Laurie and I were commuting to work together on a regular basis and the one song I can remember playing EVERY SINGLE MORNING was Gives you Hell by the American Rejects.

So there’s my catch up. Hope I can keep up a little better this coming week.

And now I throw it back to you… what song best describes YOU?
