Why are you still yelling?!

“Why are you running around yelling at everyone, instead of figuring out how to earn the right to whisper to them?” – Seth Godin

Wow! Chew on that quote today!

Imagine if we adopted that policy in all our relationships!

Imagine how different our clients and customers might feel.

Imagine how different our spouses might feel.

Imagine how different our relationships with our kids might be.

Imagine how different people might see our faith.

Wow!

Two passages of Scripture immediately come to mind…

Then he was told, “Go, stand on the mountain at attention before God. God will pass by.” and after the earthquake fire, but God wasn’t in the fire; and after the fire a gentle and quiet whisper.

When Elijah heard the quiet voice, he muffled his face with his great cloak, went to the mouth of the cave, and stood there. A quiet voice asked, “So Elijah, now tell me, what are you doing here?” – 1 Kings 19:11-13

The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish. – John 1:14

Imagine… the creator of the universe doesn’t want to yell and scream at us, yet he comes to us in a still quiet voice… and moves into the neighborhood as one of us… showing us true love and earning the right to whisper.

Love wins.
