Buy our house video podcast (episode 1)

Thought we’d try a little short “video podcast” to highlight some of the great things about our house. We’ll try and post one at least once a week until the house sells (so in reality, we hope this will be our only one).

I shot this on my Blackberry Curve 8900 last night and pieced it together a little later. Its just a quick easy video podcast that will hopefully draw some more attention to our house.

But to begin with, we would love your advice on how to better stage our dining room. Watch the short video and then share your thoughts in the comment section below or via e-mail: house (at) casadeblundell (dot) com.

Find out more here.

Let us know what you think – both about the question we raise in the video – and about the video podcast idea.

Red Oak home for sale :: Buy our house

We’re moving (well hopefully). We’re hoping to move to Forney/Mesquite area in order to be closer to our families.

If only we could take our house with us :-(.

our home

But since we can’t – we want you (or your friends or family or whomever) to buy it!

You’ll love it!

Check it out and then share with everyone!

  • Home is only two years old.
  • Just 20 miles south of downtown Dallas.
  • Quick and easy access to I-35E.
  • Grocery store and other shopping within walking distance.
  • Backs up to city easement (no neighbors along back fence).
  • Great DR Horton home.

Laundry Love Project :: You’re FREE!

With two Laundry Love Projects under our belt, we are quickly realizing that while the concept itself is sometimes hard to understand in English, it’s even harder to explain to those speaking Spanish (or other languages).

We had twice as many Spanish-only families this month as last month and we found it increasingly difficult to communicate with them throughout the two hours. (It’s nice to see that a smile and friendly gestures can still cross cultural and language barriers.)

Laundry Love Project :: No strings attached

laundry love

Wow! What a great time with this month’s Laundry Love Project.

We had a great time washing more than 30 loads of laundry (double last month’s numbers) and helping more than 15 different families.

We’re quickly finding out that communication and language barriers may be our biggest hurdle to overcome. Yet they bring such joy once they’re overcome. Continue reading Laundry Love Project :: No strings attached

Red Oak LLP :: insurgency of love

laundry love

We had our first Laundry Love Project in the Red Oak area tonight – specifically in Glenn Heights.

We had hoped and planned to do our first LLP in our neighborhood but we had some trouble communicating with the owner of the local laundry mat. So rather than force the issue we decided to do a surprise insurgency of love just a few miles north of us in Glenn Heights.

It was unannounced, non-advertised. We just showed up and offered to pay for people’s laundry as they walked in the door.

Highlights of the week ::
We finally made our trip to Fort Worth and went to the Botanical Gardens today. We had a great time enjoying the public gardens (a lot cheaper than Dallas’ Arboretum :-)) followed up by a stop at Sonic and driving through Kessler Park looking at homes. It was a warm day and a bit muggy, but I didn’t seem to notice walking in the shade most of the time.

Laurie’s got some photos on her Flickr page and I’ll probably upload some soon too.

What I’m chewing on ::
Isaiah 58

“This is the kind of fast day I’m after:
to break the chains of injustice,
get rid of exploitation in the workplace,
free the oppressed,
cancel debts.
What I’m interested in seeing you do is:
sharing your food with the hungry,
inviting the homeless poor into your homes,
putting clothes on the shivering ill-clad,
being available to your own families.
Do this and the lights will turn on,
and your lives will turn around at once.
Your righteousness will pave your way.
The God of glory will secure your passage.
Then when you pray, God will answer.
You’ll call out for help and I’ll say, ‘Here I am.’
