11 must have WordPress plugins
I’m building more and more websites and blogs on the WordPress engine.
(If you haven’t taken a look at it lately, it’s so much more than just a blogging platform.)
I’ve realized more and more that I’ve got a number of “must-have” plugins that I install as soon as I setup any site I work on — no matter what it’s for (even my local demo sites).
I’ve actually tried to cut down on many of the plugins I used to use (I no longer use Lightbox on most of my sites, rarely use social button type plugins — opting to hard code the links instead) in order to speed up page load times.

How quickly life can change
In case you’ve missed the news — we have two foster boys in our home now.
They’re such a joy.
For their protection we won’t be publishing any photos and such publicly online and for now, we’ll simply refer to them online as N (the oldest) and M (the youngest).

What my master bath looked like on Sunday….
What it looked like tonight…
It’s been a challenge – but an absolute blessing as well.
A New Kind of Christianity
Brian McLaren’s new book, A New Kind of Christianity: Ten Questions That Are Transforming the Faith, drops tomorrow (Tuesday, Feb. 9).
I received a free advance copy from the publisher late last week and have been devouring it every chance I get (which with two toddlers at home hasn’t been that often).
In it, McLaren offers the top 10 questions he’s been hearing from people about the Christian faith as well as 10 responses to those questions (as opposed to answers — which are simply statements — which lead to hate and debate… he expounds much more on this in the first couple chapters).
So far I’m loving everything I’ve read. I won’t say I agree with everything yet (especially since I haven’t the full book yet) but what I’ve read is definitely in line with a lot of other things I’m reading and thinking as of late.

I’m on the third point, I think Steve’s on point 5 today.
We’d love for you to join us.
