The Gospel according to Mike Huckabee

From NPR:

If you heard Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee’s victory speech on Super Tuesday, you may have noticed him speaking in what is almost a separate dialect. Some listeners have even asked us what he was talking about. So NPR headed off to the National Mall in search of people who understood Huckabee’s biblical allusions.

It proved almost as hard as getting a camel through the eye of a needle.

Seems like much of Huckabee’s Christianese may be confusing people. What about our our language and conversation. Are we using terms that others may not know?

Huckabee understands BBQ

Steven Colbert and Mike Huckabee answered my questions from yesterday.

Huckabee made a “surprise” visit to the Colbert Report yesterday and told Colbert he was still in the race and can still beat McCain – especially in Texas because he understands BBQ. Sounds good enough to me. 🙂

Wonder if the critics will get mad because Huckabee didn’t share the Gospel while on the show either….

Watch the fun…

The Daily Show on Mitt Romney

Apparently Mitt Romney loved America so much, he could not subject it to a Romney presidency and if he keeps running – we let the liberals, aka terrorists win.

Romeny also complains that Europe doesn’t have enough god. But the jihadists have too much god. America apparently has it all balanced.

Dobson to endorse Huckabee

Don’t know if this helps or hurts.

For those who are fans of Mike Huckabee for his family values and faith this will help bring people to his side. For those who don’t agree with these issues I think it will turn people away. It will be interesting to see how it works out.

I’m wondering how Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh are feeling after endorsing Mitt Romney for President. Will they side with Huckabee now?

So what now?

As I wake up this morning my predictions were about right. Romney went on and won Colorado and Alaska which means Mike Huckabee is about 80 delegates behind him. As Huckabee pointed out though – it’s interesting to see that the southern states seemingly like Huckabee more than Romney. And as EVERYONE is pointing out, that’s where the “real conservative base is.” So I think it would be correct to say, conservatives are much more favorable of Huckabee than Romney – unless you’re Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity (and I stopped listening to them a long time ago anyways).

But now that Super Tuesday is over, what do we do now? Especially now that Texas is in play. I posed the question to a couple friends who have been involved in the Huckabee campaign at various stages.

I would go to meet-up and volunteer… they need phone callers, better web presence (youtube, myspace, blogs, etc.), letter stuffers, yard sign placers… i’ll ask mike as soon as he wakes up – i’m letting him sleep in today 😉

from another friend:

Good question. The stronger H does in Texas, the better chance he has of being on the ticket. Also, be sure to show up at the pct convention, county conv and state convention. That will be very important…

Winning isn’t the key. Keeping McCain under 50 percent is. Not just statewide… in congressional districts too. Do the texasgop.org and look at the part rules. Start about rule 32 or so. Winning congressional dists is more important than winning the entire state.

So there you have it. What are you doing? What are you going to do?
