A new magazine is coming.
That’s nice – but I’m really just testing the post via email feature.

Johnny Laird shared a great article today on the practice of Christian meditation.
A few things stood out but this thought in particular:
“…the Christian ideal of ‘Church’ is not the empty, justifiably fading social institution he’d thought, but an ongoing — albeit often tragically wayward — attempt to build a counter-cultural community.”
It takes me back to Rodney Clapp’s “Peculiar People” and Brian McClaren’s “Everything Must Change” among others – a group of people refusing to bow to the emperors of the day who offer a true alternative that really is life giving.
I’m finding that more and more I’m leaving out personal pronouns in emails, blogs and social media.
Especially at the beginning of messages.
So rather than, “I’m drinking French Roast coffee today” I write, “Drinking French Roast coffee today.”
Or yesterday in an email, “Working on a website and thought about this…”
I’m sure it’s related to social media status updates but I wonder why. What brought about the change in my/our language?
Now that the plumbing is fixed, the walls are patched and new base boards are installed… All that’s left is getting the carpet installed and rebuilding our savings account…
We get to carry each other.
Beautiful.
