Stuck in Flo-Mo

Brian Bailey shared a link to a funny video put together in his hometown of Flower Mound, Texas.
Apparently the kids in Flo-Mo have nothing to do, so they put together a rap video highlighting their “small town” of 60,000.

Fighting crime with the sound of music

Safer Dallas Better Dallas is hoping to fight crime in the Big D with the sound of music.
Their website, www.saferdallas.net, features “We’re in the Fight Together,” Words and Music By Spencer Michlin and Johnny Marshall.
I’m not sure how it’s supposed to change the crime stats in Dallas but maybe it will drive all the criminals away if they hear it enough.
Who knows?
Apparently the song will be featured in PSA’s online.
Together we can win…

We will win (for our families)
We will win (for us all)
We will win (for Dallas)
We will win!

I don’t know if it would have the same catch, but maybe Ellis County Police Departments can adopt the song with a few changes.

The mission of Safer Dallas Better Dallas is:

The mission of Safer Dallas Better Dallas is to be a communicator and direct conduit to assist the Dallas Police Department (DPD) by:

  • Acquiring new equipment for the DPD
  • Improving recruiting results of the DPD
  • Motivating the Dallas City Council to provide more resources toward crime prevention by offering matching resources
  • Lowering the rate of recidivism of parolees

Inspiring Public Safety Personnel and Dallas citizens to embrace the basic concept that a safer life for any individual is a better life for that individual, and hence a Safer Dallas will be a Better Dallas.

There’s probably a lot captured that we would otherwise think nothing of it.
But thanks to the Internet and Google’s new Street View maps, folks around the world are enjoying seeing pictures of the surroundings in San Francisco, New York, Las Vegas, Miami, and Denver.
Mashup has put together a list of the Top 15 Google Street View sightings

Steve Jobs jabs at Gates

Steve Jobs took a jab at Bill Gates and Microsoft this week at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco.
Mac OS X Leopard will be released in October and Jobs said Apple will offer a number of options for the new operating system, basic, business, enterprise and even ultimate – all for $129.

I’m actually starting to think more and more about trying out Ubantu, the Linux based OS – for free.

Jump up jump up and get down

I found a fun video that gives an interesting twist on the jump photos Laurie and I have tried as of late…

We may have to bust out our video camera as well and see what we can come up with. I have a feeling it might make some fun countdown videos for church.
The website indymogul.com has lots of cool tips for creating your own movie FX for cheap. Where were all these great sights, computer editing and YouTube when we were growing up. We could have had a blast for sure with all our homemade movies.

Our number one test (Scrubs)

Scrubs Poo Song

Thursday nights on NBC is just great these days.

Scrubs, The Office, My Name is Earl, 30 Rock and Studio 60.

I’m quite certain our DVR is set to record from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

And while it may be “childish” I was cracking up at this musical version of Scrubs this week and their poo song.

“Our number one test is your number two.”
