Woke up this morning feeling pretty cruddy. After some deliberation I figured I could tough it out.
I finished getting ready, grabbed an energy drink and hit the road.
Made it roughly halfway to the office and decided I had made the wrong decision and turned around to come back home.
And now that I have a chance to sleep… you guessed it… the energy drink has kicked in.
Doh!
Seems a lot if folks in my Twitter and Facebook feeds are more concerned about war memorials being closed vs being upset about groups like the North Texas Food Bank not getting food from the USDA and domestic abuse shelters not getting federal funding.

It’s interesting (and maybe telling) to see what departments and groups Congress is rushing to restore funding to in spite of the government shutdown.
Either the government provides true value to Americans or it doesn’t.
Or… maybe they’re just picking and choosing what they like about the government and ignoring the things they don’t like.
Nah! Couldn’t be.
