Visual worship

We’re looking for new background videos for encounter. And I’m always interested and on the look out for new ways of doing technology/video in worship… I’ve had this picture in my head for a while but thought it would only be limited to intellibeams and such. I would have loved to have done something cool at Christmas but it didn’t pan out – this may be the answer though to what I’m looking at and looking for.

That’s not paint or wallpaper on the wall of Irving Bible Church – that’s video/graphic projection.
Check out the entire gallery.

I can just imagine some of the things that could be done with a setup like this.

I’m watching a video right now with Robert Scoble and Otto Berkes, general manager for Origami, showing off the new toy.

They’re calling it an Ultra-Mobile PC.

It has a seven-inch screen with tons of cool features.

It will ship with Windows XP Tablet Edition, with a 800×400 screen res. The features will differ from unit to unit, but you can hook in USB devices and the one they’re showing off has a 1 GhZ processor.
Estimated costs are between $599 to $999.

According to Berkes, you can run Windows Vista when it releases as well.

From what Berkes said, this line of computers will basically bridge the gap between Smart Phones and Laptop or Tablet PCs.

It’s small, but not too small that it’s too expensive.

Looks very cool.

Mapping my childhood

Microsoft has updated their Live Local site.

It’s super cool.

Depending on the area you can get good arial photos of areas.

I’ve mapped out some of the memories of my childhood if you click the link. I’ll have to do numerous more to get everything, but this is a fun start.

Lots of fun.

What would you map out? Give it a try.

UPDATE: local.live.com must not have been that great — it’s gone — that or merged into Bing.com Maps.
