Why blog frequency does not matter anymore

#1 – Traffic is generated by participating in the community; not daily posting
#2 – Traffic is irrelevant to your blog’s success anyway
#3 – Loyal readers coming back daily to check your posts is so Web 1.0
#4 – Frequent posting is actually starting to have a negative impact on loyalty
#5 – Frequent posting keeps key senior executives and thought leaders out of the blogosphere
#6 – Frequent posting drives poor content quality
#7 – Frequent posting threatens the credibility of the blogosphere
#8 – Frequent posting will push corporate bloggers into the hands of PR agencies
#9 – Frequent posting creates the equivalent of a blogging landfill
#10 – I love my family too much

I’ve never set a goal for myself, but I do usually try to find at least two things I can blog about weekdays.
On the other hand, my mom and sister have told me they don’t read any of my “long entries” and usually just skim my page.
My dad tends to read everything, but usually a week at a time – like his e-mails.
My mom naturally is only concerned about things that directly involve me, rather than anything political or related to music, wrestling or other things. She does seem to enjoy the recipes though.
What about the rest of you? Why do you read my blog? What do you look for?
Do you enjoy personal insight? Politics? The fight for Africa?
What about other blogs you visit? Do you visit more than once a day? Why do you visit them?

Call House members to provide Darfur funding – today

Later today the House of Representatives will vote on whether or not to provide critical funding for humanitarian aid in Darfur. In a country where a state-sponsored genocide has already claimed over 400,000 lives and left millions more homeless and starving, this funding could literally mean the difference between life and death.
Last month, the United Nations was forced to cut daily food rations in half – well below survival level – due to lack of funds. We need your help today to make sure that this doesn’t happen again.
Please call your Representative today and ask that he or she vote for the Obey/Hyde/Lantos amendment which would add $50 million in humanitarian aid in Darfur. We have provided a call script below for you to use.
Just one minute of your time could have a tremendous impact for the millions of innocent men, women, and children in Darfur who live every day in fear of murder, starvation, and rape.

Hi, this is [NAME] calling from [CITY/TOWN]. I’m calling to ask Congressman/woman _____ to support the Obey/Lantos/Hyde Amendment to add $50 million dollars for humanitarian aid in Darfur. Do you know if [HE/SHE] will vote to help provide this crucial aid to the million of men, women, and children displaced by the genocide in Darfur?
If yes:
That’s great news. Please thank [HIM/HER] for me and let [HIM/HER] know that I’ll tell my friends and family that [HE’S/SHE’S] supporting this important cause.
If no, or don’t know:
[ONLY IF NO] Do you know why not?
[EITHER WAY] Please let [HIM/HER] know that these programs are keeping millions of families alive and safe.
