HDiddy LOVES to organize things (I think he gets that from his mom). And ever since Laurie bought me a Keurig for Christmas he loves organizing the K-cups whenever he can.

Today he took it a step further and both boys began to “cook” their next meal with them.

Oh to be young again…

They aren’t babies anymore

My boys – Photo by Laurie Blundell

A few weeks back I promised I would write a post about my boys turning two.

Yeah… about that…

I’ve sat down a few times now to try and write about the continuing Adventures in Fatherhood as we enter our boys third year of life. So many thoughts swirl through my head that finding a place to begin is rather tough.

My boys are turning two… far too soon

Next Sunday my boys will be two years old?!?

It’s hard to believe, it feels like we were just here…

Hopefully between now and editing their video for their birthday and birthday party plans I’ll have a chance to write some more formal thoughts down.

But until then, here are a some photos I snagged last weekend while Laurie had her backdrop and lights setup to capture their two-year-old photos (she has far better photos on her blog).

These are each straight out of the camera with only the on camera flash.

As you can see, IDiddy was about fed up with photos by the time I started snapping and HDiddy just wanted to play.

The final photo was captured Saturday at our family reunion. IDiddy convinced my dad that he needed some of his ice cold water, instead of the water in his normal cup. By the time it was over, IDiddy’s shirt was soaked but he didn’t mind one bit as he was so excited to be drinking out of his Grandpa’s glass.

Tender

Today is Five-Minute Friday, in which The Gypsy Mama gives a writing prompt and bloggers write for the love of writing for five minutes. Then hit publish. Just write. Today’s prompt is “tender.”

“STOP!” I yelled across the room.

IDiddy just looked at me and smiled.

He knew exactly what he was doing.

Our prayer for our boys

Me and my boys | Photo by Don Johnson @easttexasphoto

On Jan. 29th, our family will be taking part in a “baby dedication” within our faith community.

(I use quotation marks because our boys aren’t exactly babies anymore – they’ll be 15 months old on Jan 21.)

This isn’t an infant baptism or similar ceremony as some might be accustomed to, but it’s more of a commitment celebration for us as parents and our larger community to say that we will commit to fight for our children and work to teach them and lead them in the way of Christ.
