I talked with Rob Nelson earlier this week. He works with Puppet Productions in Desoto and this quote stood out to me (as did several others). But I want to be able to say this about my next job/career…
“It’s a neat feeling to see what God’s doing,†Nelson said. “It’s not only satisfying but flat fun.â€

Last day for early voting
Don’t forget to get out and vote today.
Today’s the last day to vote early. In most counties around Texas the early voting locations are open until 7 p.m.
Otherwise you can vote with the masses on Tuesday, Nov. 7 – but knowing my readers, I’m sure you’ve all voted already. Right?
Have questions about voting? Read the Secretary of State’s FAQ’s about voting in Texas.

40 Days
Back in May I found a copy of illustrations by Simon Smith on Jesus’ 40 Day’s in the wilderness.
I loved the illustrations and put them up on Youtube with a track accompaniment. Just recently one of Simon’s friends alerted him that I had his work on Youtube while he was selling CDs of the work.
He e-mailed me and asked me kindly to remove the video. Not meaning to cause any harm (I understood his work was under creative commons or public domain) I did remove the video.
But today at work Simon went above and beyond and sent me a copy of the CD with his illustrations and a different music track. It’s great.
I say all this, just to let you know, Simon’s a class act and you should definitely purchase the CD for use at your church. E-mail Simon to order a copy.
New mixes for the weekend
Thomas and Aaron both have new mixes ready for play this weekend on Orange Noise.
Thomas dedicated his show to Love and I think more specifically to Laurie and I for our engagement.
And you’re probably thinking, yeah right, like he dedicated his whole hour long show to you and Laurie?
Well I could be wrong, but he did name the file: Love Mix for JD & Laurie.
So there ;-).
Click here to download the mix or listen tonight at 9 p.m. CST.
And for the record, huge props to both Aaron and Thomas for putting together some way good mixes for Orange Noise weekends.
Keep up the great work! I look forward to the sneak peaks every week when I get the shows!

US Warns: Attacks planned across Nigeria
From the AP
LAGOS, Nigeria — Militants in Nigeria are planning a major new wave of attacks and kidnappings in the next few days that could include up to 20 simultaneous bombings across the country’s oil-rich delta region, U.S. diplomats warned Friday.
The warning came in an e-mailed statement sent to American citizens from the U.S. Consulate in Nigeria’s main city, Lagos, and a U.S. diplomat confirmed plans for fresh attacks were believed to be under way.
“The U.S. Government has learned that as of late October 2006, a militant Niger Delta group may have finalized its plans for a unified attack against oil facilities in the Niger Delta region,” the statement said. “The attacks allegedly will be carried out sometime during the first week of November and will include 10 to 20 simultaneous bombings of land-based targets and a series of separate attacks on oil installations in which expatriate workers will be taken hostage.”
The statement gave no details on what specific oil installations might be targeted.
A diplomat at the U.S. Consulate in Lagos, who declined to be named because he was not authorized to speak to the press about the issue, confirmed the threat was being taken seriously but had no other details.
