A week ago, I flashed my G1 with the Cyanogenmod 6-RC2 Operating System for the 4th time in just a couple weeks.
It was starting to get a little annoying.
Thankfully, I finally decided to do a complete wipe and flash (essentially formatting the phone and reinstalling the OS from scratch) and I haven’t had any real issues since then.
However, I did tell Laurie (who’s a proud iPhone owner) that having to flash the phone several times made me know for sure that there were only a few people I’d recommend rooting and flashing their Android phone to.
So rather than recommending the process to you again — I thought I’d offer a change of pace — 15 reasons why you should buy an iPhone INSTEAD of an Android phone.
- You prefer a stable operating system and don’t want to be tempted to install the latest release client to gain a few new features.
- You don’t want to be stuck re-flashing your phone once a week if the said release client is still unstable.
- You prefer auto-syncing your photos, music and movies with iTunes instead of transferring individual files and using your phone as a USB drive.
- You really like Words With Friends.
- All the “cool” kids have one.
- You prefer your apps to be vetted by corporate types.
- Facetime looks really cool!
- You’re heard iPhone 4 comes with the cool After Dark Flying Toaster screensaver app.
- What’s Google Voice?
- You never use Flash — and never plan to.
- You don’t mind being limited to one set of hardware features on just one cellular network.
- The antenna problem on iPhone 4 is a great excuse to “accidentally” hang up on annoying calls.
- You like the attention you get from the cute blonde who works at the Apple Store Genius Bar.
- It’s the hipster thing to do — and the phone looks great with your soul patch and black turtleneck.
- Steve Jobs would never lead you wrong.
