A while back I shared my Life Cannon<\/a>. I’ve considered going back and updating it – maybe I will someday soon.<\/p>\n

But for now, I was intrigued by an article on NPR Music<\/a> that suggested a similar idea based solely on music.<\/p>\n

The article asks a few questions:<\/p>\n

  1. What was the first song you ever bought?<\/li>\n
  2. What song always gets you dancing?<\/li>\n
  3. What song takes you back to your childhood?<\/li>\n
  4. What is your perfect love song?<\/li>\n
  5. What song would you want at your funeral?<\/li>\n
  6. Time for an encore. One last song that makes you, you.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n


    \nMusic is a pretty big part of my life and a lot of these answers could probably change from year to year – but I’ll give it a shot for today.<\/p>\n

    What was the first song you ever bought?<\/strong> – I believe the first cassette tape I ever bought was from Christian rap group – P.I.D. (Preachers in Disguise). It was followed shortly by dcTalk’s Nu Thang. The first CD I ever purchased was the One single by U2.<\/p>\n

    What song always gets you dancing?<\/strong> – Hard to say as I’m not much<\/em> of a dancer. But one song that’s been able to get me rockin’ every time I hear it the last couple years has been Knights of Cydonia by Muse.<\/p>\n

    What song takes you back to your childhood?<\/strong> – Good Vibrations by The Beach Boys. I remember recording a copy of that song off the radio and wearing the cassette tape out.<\/p>\n

    What is your perfect love song?<\/strong> – I’m gonna go with a song we had sung at our wedding – I Have and I Always Will by Dave Barnes.<\/p>\n

    What song would you want at your funeral?<\/strong> – This one’s changed over the years. Perhaps all of these can be played. It Is Well (traditional hymn), Friendly, Friendly World by Ken Darby (made famous by Andy Kaufman) and We’ll Meet Again by Ross Parke (made famous by Dr Strangelove). Recently I’ve also considered Time To Say Goodbye (Con te partir\u00c3\u00b2).<\/p>\n

    Time for an encore. One last song that makes you, you.<\/strong> – I’m gonna go with U2’s Grace.<\/p>\n
