{"id":9020,"date":"2012-01-03T16:15:40","date_gmt":"2012-01-03T22:15:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/casadeblundell.com\/jonathan\/?p=9020"},"modified":"2012-01-03T16:13:28","modified_gmt":"2012-01-03T22:13:28","slug":"in-the-year-two-thousand-and-twelve","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/casadeblundell.com\/jonathan\/in-the-year-two-thousand-and-twelve\/","title":{"rendered":"In the year two-thousand (and twelve)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/casadeblundell.com\/jonathan\/in-the-year-two-thousand-and-twelve\/jonathan-blundell1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-9023\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/casadeblundell.com\/jonathan\/wp-content\/uploads\/jonathan-blundell1-500x332.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"Happy New Year from the Blundells | Photo by Michael Lattanzi \" width=\"500\" height=\"332\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-9023\" srcset=\"http:\/\/casadeblundell.com\/jonathan\/wp-content\/uploads\/jonathan-blundell1-500x332.jpg 500w, http:\/\/casadeblundell.com\/jonathan\/wp-content\/uploads\/jonathan-blundell1-300x199.jpg 300w, http:\/\/casadeblundell.com\/jonathan\/wp-content\/uploads\/jonathan-blundell1.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>(Cue the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=a1yrTipJ1GE\" target=\"_blank\">Conan O&#8217;Brien music<\/a>&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s that time of year again, when we all look towards the future and try and avoid the mistakes of the past.<\/p>\n<p>Laurie and I sat and talked about some of our goals for the year last night and for the sake of holding myself accountable &#8212; as dreams and goals come to mind, I like to share many of them on my blog.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll hope they&#8217;re more than just good intentions &#8211; but instead, real changes in lifestyle that last year after year.<\/p>\n<p>So here are a few of my goals for this year in no particular order&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Spend more time with My Life.<\/li>\n<li>Spend more time with my boys (and less time worrying about my to-do list while they&#8217;re awake).<\/li>\n<li>Spend more time with friends over coffee or a meal.<\/li>\n<li>Pay off a large chunk of debt by year&#8217;s end.<\/li>\n<li>Enjoy a special five-year anniversary excursion without adding to said debt.<\/li>\n<li>Cook more &#8211; eat out less.<\/li>\n<li>Eat less meat &#8211; eat more vegetables.<\/li>\n<li>Buy (and grow) more fresh foods and avoid processed foods.<\/li>\n<li>Start a vegetable garden.<\/li>\n<li>Continue trying to make my own compost for said garden.<\/li>\n<li>Continue walking\/jogging at least 4 times a week.<\/li>\n<li>Lose 20 more pounds. 10 pounds by Feb. 24th (my 33rd birthday).<\/li>\n<li>Live the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.casadeblundell.com\/jonathan\/faith\/community-fertilizer\/\" title=\"community fertilizer\">intentional challenge<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Blog\/write more. I&#8217;ve gotten lapse in my blogging and writing this year. I want to do better &#8211; at least one quality post a week.<\/li>\n<li>Read more (offline).<\/li>\n<li>Read through the Bible again.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So those are my goals for 2012 as of Jan. 3. <\/p>\n<p>A few other things I&#8217;d like to see happen but I&#8217;m not putting them down as &#8220;official goals&#8221; yet as they&#8217;re definitely not priorities and are each fairly time consuming&#8230;.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Write a 2nd book.<\/li>\n<li>Find new revenue streams (see large chunk of debt above).<\/li>\n<li>Start another podcast (I have a few ideas floating in my head).<\/li>\n<li>Etc. etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>So what about you?
