If that sentence seems ridiculous, that&#8217;s partly bowling&#8217;s own fault. Minshew believes that bowling and golf were equally honorable fifty years ago, but that while golf chose to be elite and expensive, bowling chose to be universal and cheap. Bowling provided house shoes, house balls and bumper lanes. As a result, bowling is often thought of as the working-class semi-sport, and golf brings in billions of dollars in television, advertising and in useless office knick-knacks.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I wonder if similar things can be found in religion and denominations and other areas of life.<br \/>\nWhen you think of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apple.com\" rel=\"tag\">Mac<\/A> users, I often think of artsy and high-end graphic users with extra money to spend on proprietaryry system.<br \/>\nBut in reality, I can do the exact same things on my PC.<br \/>\nIn fact, Apple has recently switched to using the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.intel.com\" rel=\"tag\">Intel<\/A> chips that PC&#8217;s have relied on for years, claiming now the chips can do more in their machines.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Eric over at the Daily Funnel, has an interesting post on bowling.
