As I write this, we’ve just arrived back home (roughly an hour ago) from our quick whirlwind trip to Seattle.<\/p>\n

Laurie’s already sound asleep as I catch up on some e-mails and such before heading that way as well.<\/p>\n

We had a great time seeing many of Seattle’s great sites…

\nThe Space Needle\/Space Center<\/a><\/p>\n

Bainbridge Island<\/a><\/p>\n

The floating home on Sleepless in Seattle<\/a> (which was recently<\/a> on the market for $2.5 million<\/a>)<\/p>\n

Pike’s Place<\/a> – including the 1st Starbucks ever (didn’t get a picture though :-()<\/p>\n

Several hundred Starbucks everywhere else we went<\/p>\n

And several other places in between. <\/p>\n

And we managed to do it all without a rental car! WOot WOot!<\/p>\n

Granted, our legs are feeling all the extra walking we did as well — but think of all the money we saved and calories we burned! Yeah buddy.<\/p>\n

For me, the highlight of the trip was getting to spend all that time with My Wonderful Life — without distractions, schedules, TV, etc. <\/p>\n

I also really enjoyed Bainbridge Island<\/a> (which is a 30 minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle). There were lots of great shops we visited, including a couple that featured local artists.<\/p>\n

Indie Banditas Bazaar<\/a> was definitely my favorite as well — loved getting to know the owner Kate<\/a> and two of her kids. It was obvious that she loves what she does. We wish her and the artists she supports the best of luck.<\/p>\n

We absolutely loved the artwork and handmade goods Kate had in her shop… especially the work of soopajdelux<\/a> (aka Jenna Colby) and one of her paintings – Twins…<\/p>\n

We asked Kate how much the painting was — and she told us that it had been a gift from soopajdelux so she didn’t think she could part with it for less than $1500. DRATS! But totally understood. I’d hold on to something like that as well.<\/p>\n

I’m sure we’ll be sharing more in the upcoming days — both on our blogs, Flickr and YouTube. <\/p>\n
