{"id":4010,"date":"2008-09-19T13:00:47","date_gmt":"2008-09-19T19:00:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.casadeblundell.com\/jonathan\/?p=4010"},"modified":"2009-08-26T14:38:07","modified_gmt":"2009-08-26T19:38:07","slug":"re-posts-re-church","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/casadeblundell.com\/jonathan\/re-posts-re-church\/","title":{"rendered":"re-posts re: church"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Was reading The New Christians today at lunch and came across a familiar name :: <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/jonnybaker.blogs.com\">Jonny Baker<\/a><\/strong>.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/nanolog.blogspot.com\">Thomas<\/a> introduced me to Jonny a while back and while searching my site for a few things I came across these quotes I shared back in 2006 from Jonny.<\/p>\n<p>This was an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.casadeblundell.com\/jonathan\/uncategorized\/church-in-eden\/\">ad for a church<\/a> on Jonny&#8217;s site:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>You love God but you just can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t do Sunday morning style church?<br \/>\nYou\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re really not into singing songs all the time or you don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t believe that singing songs is the only way we can worship God?<br \/>\nYou would like to be part of a church where you are accountable to each other and are responsible for helping each other grow?<br \/>\nYou\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re tired of professional Christianity and you just want to be church like it was with Jesus and his followers back in his human days?<br \/>\nYou believe Church is more fluid than a building or tradition.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And how about this&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.casadeblundell.com\/jonathan\/faith\/can-we-imagine-church-as\/\">Can we imagine church as ::<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>church beyond gathering?<\/li>\n<li>church beyond once a week?<\/li>\n<li>church as always on connectivity to christ and one another?<\/li>\n<li>church where community is the content?<\/li>\n<li>theology and resources of church being open source?<\/li>\n<li>church valuing the wisdom of the crowd rather than the knowledge of the expert?<\/li>\n<li>our church\/spirituality being easily found by seekers because we tag it that way?<\/li>\n<li>an ethos of low control and collaboration?<\/li>\n<li>an economy of gift?<\/li>\n<li>church as spaces for creative production and self publishing?<\/li>\n<li>church as providers of resources for spiritual seekers and tourists?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I hope its coming true.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Was reading The New Christians today at lunch and came across a familiar name :: Jonny Baker.
