Lewis\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Chronicles of Narnia\u00e2\u20ac\u009d series.<br \/>\nAs I read the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Horse and His Boy\u00e2\u20ac\u009d this past weekend I was struck again by Lewis\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 amazing use of symbolism and parallelism.<br \/>\nIn Lewis\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 third book of the series he writes about a young boy named Shasta &#8212; who decides to leave home and run away to the northern land of Narnia.<br \/>\nAlong the way, like most journeys, troubles come.<br \/>\nBut near the end of his journey, Shasta meets Aslan the Lion.<br \/>\nAslan the Great Lion, the Son of the Emperor-over-the-sea, the King above all Kings of Narnia.<br \/>\nAslan listens to Shasta\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s story and then tells him he was with him every step of his journey.<br \/>\nThose troubles that Shasta encountered and he thought was unfortunate were the same things Aslan used to spur him on and help him to grow along the way.<br \/>\nAfter hearing this Aslan asks about his friend and why she encountered the trouble she had.<br \/>\nAslan replies, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153I am telling you your story, not hers. I tell no one any story but their own.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<br \/>\nI think we can apply this quickly to our own lives.<br \/>\nI can think of many times I asked God, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Why did you do this for me and not them?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<br \/>\nWe always want to know why God treats us differently than everyone else.<br \/>\nYet each time God responds, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Child, I am telling you your story, not theirs. I tell no one any story but his own.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<br \/>\nI want to know who, what when and why &#8212; but God simply reminds me that He\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s been there every step of the way and will continue to be there from now to eternity.<br \/>\nHe also says, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Hey &#8212; calm down and quit worrying about everyone else. Their story is their story and your story is your story. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll complete each one how I see fit.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<br \/>\nAlan Levi writes in his song, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Things that make the story mine,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<br \/>\n\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve been working on a 42-year story, acting out a role that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s unrehearsed. Though some scenes have been sweet some others have been gory, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m wiser now than at the very first. Between my once upon a time and my happy ever after, no stunt man steps on stage to take my falls. No one else can cry my tears or laugh my laughter. This part gets played by me or not at all&#8230; It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s those parts I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d change, those lines I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d cut, those scenes I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d refine, those things I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d remove are the things that make the story mine.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<br \/>\nEnjoy your story.<br \/>\nEnjoy the tears and the laughter.<br \/>\nTake it one scene at a time and make it the best story you can.
