I microblogged (<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/jdblundell\">Twittered<\/a>) much of the trip but I figured I&#8217;d give everyone a quick recap here as well.<\/p>\n<p>a &#8211; we left early Thursday morning<br \/>\nb &#8211; stopped and grabbed a pic near the Texas\/Arkansas border<br \/>\nc &#8211; found a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geocaching.com\">Geocache<\/a> at a rest stop where we ate lunch<br \/>\nd &#8211; stopped in Arkadelphia to fill up and found out they <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/jdblundell\/2333325654\/\">don&#8217;t like loud music<\/a><br \/>\ne &#8211; drove from there to Memphis<br \/>\nf &#8211; arrived at the hotel around 4ish and then headed downtown to <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/lblundell\/2335907253\/\">Beale St<\/a><br \/>\ng &#8211; ended up at an Irish pub for dinner<br \/>\nh &#8211; stopped at the <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/lblundell\/2341497771\/in\/photostream\/\">Lorraine Motel<\/a> and took photos of the place where Dr. Martin Luther King was <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/jdblundell\/2332499253\/in\/set-72157604118550267\/\">gunned down April 4, 1968<\/a><br \/>\ni &#8211; took some <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/lblundell\/2341520115\/\">night pictures of the Mississippi<\/a><br \/>\nj &#8211; woke up Friday morning and headed to <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/lblundell\/2341542327\/in\/set-72157604141706562\/\">Graceland<\/a>, home of Elvis Presley<br \/>\nk &#8211; it was well worth the visit but they have turned that area into a money making tourist trap for Elvis Presley Enterprises<br \/>\nl &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/jdblundell\/2334338236\/\">signed our name<\/a> to the fence outside Graceland<br \/>\nm &#8211; ate lunch back at the hotel and then headed to Sun Studios where <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/jdblundell\/2333514237\/in\/set-72157604118550267\/\">Elvis recorded his first single<\/a> and U2 recorded several songs while filming and recording <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/jdblundell\/2333487479\/in\/set-72157604118550267\/\">Rattle and Hum<\/a><br \/>\nn &#8211; found another geocache along the banks of the <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/jdblundell\/2334342478\/in\/set-72157604118550267\/\">Mississippi River<\/a><br \/>\no &#8211; enjoyed a nap and then had dinner at Chick-fil-A<br \/>\np &#8211; woke up the next morning and headed back to Graceland to grab a Sun Studio hat &#8212; funny that the Sun Studio hat I wanted was at Graceland and the Elvis keychain Laurie wanted was at a store near Graceland, not at Graceland<br \/>\nq &#8211; drove 4 or 5 miles south to Mississippi and found our first geocache in Mississippi<br \/>\nr &#8211; headed back to downtown Memphis and toured the <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/jdblundell\/2334342478\/in\/set-72157604118550267\/\">Gibson Guitar Factory<\/a> &#8212; before arriving Laurie suggested maybe we should buy me another guitar while we were there. i was all for that (and still am) but figured she didn&#8217;t realize <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guitarcenter.com\/Gibson-Acoustic-Advanced-Jumbo-Guitar-101912970-i1149531.gc\">how expensive Gibson Guitars really are<\/a>. besides knowing how great the look and sound &#8211; after seeing how they make their guitars by hand we both understand why they&#8217;re so expensive.<br \/>\ns &#8211; found some great Memphis BBQ at <a href=\"http:\/\/flickr.com\/photos\/lblundell\/2341563949\/\">Corky&#8217;s<\/a> on the east side of Memphis. Laurie says it tops her favorite, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.redhotandblue.com\/\">Red, Hot &#038; Blue<\/a>. i may have to agree but i don&#8217;t know if any BBQ tops the great BBQ at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.findlocalcatering.com\/Texas\/Cyclone-Corral-BBQ-16921.html\">Cyclone Corral BBQ<\/a> outside Temple, Texas.<br \/>\nt &#8211; made a random stop at Target and bought Elvis&#8217; 30 #1 hits &#8212; another random Elvis purchase away from Graceland ($9 compared to $22)<br \/>\nu &#8211; headed back to Dallas Sunday morning<br \/>\nv &#8211; stopped along the way for another geocache in Arkansas and dropped off <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Travel_Bug\">a travel bug<\/a> and grabbed a new one &#8211; didn&#8217;t realize till we were back home that the travel bug we grabbed was actually on it&#8217;s way to Memphis and not away from it &#8211; DOH!<br \/>\nw &#8211; stopped in Sulphur Springs to see family and to see Bryan and Amanda&#8217;s new house<br \/>\nx &#8211; it&#8217;s very Oyler-esque &#8211; all the way to Bryan&#8217;s collection of John Deere collectible tractors<br \/>\ny &#8211; ate dinner at Snuffers in Rockwall &#8211; mmm Snuffers<br \/>\nz &#8211; arrived back home around 9 after picking Presley up from Laurie&#8217;s parents<\/p>\n<p>So there you have it &#8211; Memphis A-Z.
