But I really want to do something for the teachers. For starters I want to get rid of the TAKS test. There\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not a teacher in Texas that likes the TAKS test \u00e2\u20ac\u201c not a good teacher. This test has a whole generation of kids who aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t quite sure if the Civil War took place here or in Europe \u00e2\u20ac\u201c it wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t on the test. They\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve never heard of Mark Twain \u00e2\u20ac\u201c he wasn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t on the test.
\nFriedman also plans to bring local retirees back to the schools to help students learn.
