{"id":1553,"date":"2006-09-14T13:57:29","date_gmt":"2006-09-14T19:57:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.casadeblundell.com\/jonathan\/?p=1553"},"modified":"2013-06-11T07:30:30","modified_gmt":"2013-06-11T13:30:30","slug":"i-want-to-be-ruined","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/casadeblundell.com\/jonathan\/i-want-to-be-ruined\/","title":{"rendered":"I want to be ruined"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m really excited about the new <span class=\"removed_link\" title=\"http:\/\/www.encounterthis.com\/blog\">encounter blog<\/span> because of great posts like this&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/~r\/TheEncounter\/~3\/22289688\/\">Ruined<\/a>: &#8220;Just recently I was doing a lesson in which I mentioned the fact that one of Jesus\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 leadership qualities was that He \u00e2\u20ac\u0153ruined\u00e2\u20ac\u009d peoples\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 lives. Well, actually, He ruined people to their former lives &#8211; they were never the same again. Beggars became workers, postitutes became women of virtue, tax collectors became generous, and lepers became party-goers. And those who knew Him best? The influence of Jesus was seen by even their enemies &#8211; Acts 4:13 &#8211; and the conclusion they drawn is that it was Jesus\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 influence that made the difference! I want to be ruined like that! I want to see Jesus ruin me to some bad habits and maybe some of my less than stellar character flaws. Unfortunately I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think I get to choose what Jesus works on. Zacheus (a wee little man was he) only wanted Jesus to recognize him, but instead he got a lesson on grace and generousity! So I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m trying to be open to Jesus\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 ruining power &#8211; even if it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s going to take me places that I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t expect.
