Not sure if I’ve mentioned this before, but I really dig my Jawbone Up<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It’s discrete, it offers great insight at the end of the day and has a great sleep monitor & wake feature. I love that it’s waterproof and I can leave it on 24\/7 without any issues. And I love that the battery lasts approximately 10 days. The only device I have that lasts that long these days is my Kindle.<\/p>\n

However, the one downside is it doesn’t always track my steps correctly if I’m not walking with my hands free. <\/p>\n

If I spend an hour walking through Costco pushing a shopping cart – it won’t track a thing. If I walk with my hands in my pocket, it won’t track a thing. If I walk around the neighborhood holding my boys’ hands – it won’t track much of anything.<\/p>\n

So with that in mind (and that I’m always looking for the next big thing) I’m giving Moves<\/a> a try.<\/p>\n

I’ve always been leery of pedometers on my phone simply because of how they tend to hurt your battery life. But Moves developers say in general the app won’t affect your battery life – so we’ll see.<\/p>\n

Looking forward to comparing it with my Jawbone and see how the two match\/don’t match up at the end of the day.<\/p>\n

And of course this also means either no tracking at night or I have to keep my phone closer to my side when I walk in the door #facepalm.<\/p>\n

I feel like the early days of smart phones<\/a> when I had a dream list and no one could meet it all.<\/p>\n
