Searching for paradise with Kevin Hendricks

As promised, I had a good chat with Kevin Hendricks yesterday about his novel, The Least of These, which he wrote as part of NaNoWriMo.

Huge props to Kevin for the great book. It was a fun and entertaining read for sure.

Find out more about Kevin in an interview with him on the podcast (from season 1!). He’s also taken part in Five Questions with… on We Live Simply this week, so be sure to be inspired.

And be sure and follow his blog at kevindhendricks.com or on Twitter @kevinhendricks

  1. Found when Bono talks about becoming a monster. It's the introduction to “Miss Sarajevo” from a 2005 Milan, Italy performance (You can buy the single on iTunes: http://ow.ly/1kn4i). It's dedicated to those who lost their lives or were injured in the London bombings that happened the week before:

“We would like to turn our song into a prayer. The prayer is that we don't become a monster in order to defeat a monster.” -Bono

  2. Cool! I hadn't heard that quote before but I it's very similar to a line from Peace on Earth – I imagine your find is where it came from.

Heaven on Earth, we need it now
I'm sick of all of this hanging around
Sick of sorrow, sick of the pain
I'm sick of hearing again and again
That there's gonna be peace on Earth

Where I grew up there weren't many trees
Where there was we'd tear them down
And use them on our enemies
They say that what you mock
    Will surely overtake you

    And you become a monster
So the monster will not break you
And it's already gone too far
You say that if you go in hard
    You won't get hurt
