This morning I read and was blessed again by Psalm 92.\u00a0 <\/span>(Verses 12-16 are similar to Psalm 1:3 and Jeremiah 17:7-8.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/em><\/strong>1<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u201cIt is good R2932<\/span><\/sup><\/a> to give thanks to the LORD And to sing R2933<\/span><\/sup><\/a> praises to Your name, O Most High; 2<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0To declare R2934<\/span><\/sup><\/a> Your lovingkindness in the morning And Your faithfulness R2935<\/span><\/sup><\/a> by F999<\/span><\/sup><\/a> night, 3<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0With F1000<\/span><\/sup><\/a> the ten-stringed R2936<\/span><\/sup><\/a> lute and with F1000<\/span><\/sup><\/a> the harp, R2937<\/span><\/sup><\/a> With F1000<\/span><\/sup><\/a> resounding music upon F1001<\/span><\/sup><\/a> the lyre. R2938<\/span><\/sup><\/a> 4<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0For You, O LORD, have made me glad by what F1002<\/span><\/sup><\/a> You have R2939<\/span><\/sup><\/a> done, I will sing R2940<\/span><\/sup><\/a> for joy at the works R2941<\/span><\/sup><\/a> of Your hands. 5<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0How great R2942<\/span><\/sup><\/a> are Your works, O LORD! Your thoughts F1003<\/span><\/sup><\/a> R2943<\/span><\/sup><\/a> are very deep. For a joyful time of praise, sing most of the first four verses to the tune of \u201cThe Fiddler on the Roof\u201d and repeat verses one and two at the end.<\/o:p><\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u201c1<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0It is good to give thanks to the LORD And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; <\/o:p><\/span>2<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning And Your faithfulness by night, <\/o:p><\/span>3<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0With the ten-stringed flute and with <\/a>the harp, With resounding music upon the lyre. <\/o:p><\/span>4<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0For You, O LORD, have made me glad\u2026 <\/o:p><\/span>(Repeat)<\/o:p><\/span><\/em><\/strong>1 <\/span><\/em><\/strong>It is good to give thanks to the LORD And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High.<\/o:p><\/span>2<\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning And Your faithfulness by night..\u201d <\/span><\/o:p><\/span>Today is the five year anniversary of my father\u2019s promotion into glorious eternal life with God our Father.\u00a0 <\/span>I rejoiced last night as I sang some of his favorite hymns and I rejoiced again today as we sang \u201cHow Great Thou Art\u201d in church.\u00a0 <\/span>On Father\u2019s Day, 2001, I asked Dad if he remembered the particular day on which he trusted Christ to forgive his sins, take control of his life, and received an eternal new life as a free gift from our Heavenly Father.\u00a0 <\/span>He said he did not remember the exact day, but that it was when I was quite small, because he was carrying me<\/strong> in his arms.\u00a0 <\/span>That decision was made in the Nebraska rural school near where Open Door, the \u201cLittle White Church \u2018Mong the Pines,\u2019 was founded at about that time by a group of farmers and ranchers led by an American Sunday School Union missionary.\u00a0 <\/span>We attended that church all of my life in Nebraska<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> and Dad and Mom attended it all the years they lived on our farm about seven miles away from it.\u00a0 <\/span><\/o:p><\/span>Dad\u2019s decision made a definite impact on our family\u2019s life because Mom was the only Christian in our immediate family until then.\u00a0 <\/span>Since then, both of my sisters, my brother, myself and all of our\u00a0children have ade professions of faith in Christ.\u00a0 Most of our mature children\u00a0who have married have married Christian spouses as well.\u00a0 We know w<\/span>e are each a long way from perfect. We also know we have found forgiveness for our sins and strength and faith to trust Christ at all times, although each and all of us often fail to trust our wonderful Savior in numerous ways and still fall into sin.\u00a0 <\/span>\u201cHallelujah!\u00a0 <\/span>What a Savior who can take a poor lost sinner, lift him from the miry clay, and set him free.\u201d\u00a0 is the first line of\u00a0one\u00a0those hymns we used to sing at Open Door Church and have often sung since then.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
