This\u00a0morning I read\u00a0Psalms 56-60 in the New American Standard and the King James Version.\u00a0\u00a0These chapters are very encouraging to believers\u00a0who are feeling attacked physically, emotionally, and\/or spritually.\u00a0\u00a0This passage shows how David’s prayers and meditations took him from the depths of despair, asking God to expose and defeat his enemies.\u00a0 God raised him\u00a0to resolute and finally joyful praise as David trusted God for help.\u00a0\u00a0(The complete passage is from the KJV and printed in red.\u00a0\u00a0I inserted a comment in one passage which is in blue print.\u00a0 The entire text is available to anyone with with\u00a0internet access from\u00a0www.crosswalk.com<\/a>, where very good translations and study helps are also accessible.)\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

I remember a story about Abraham Lincoln being asked about whether he thought God was on the side of the Union states during the civil war.\u00a0 He replied that he was little concerned about on whose\u00a0side God was.\u00a0 He was most concerned that he and the Union were on God’s\u00a0side.\u00a0 We need to pray that our country’s leaders as well as our countrymen are concerned and certain that we are on God’s\u00a0side.\u00a0 The battle is the Lord’s.\u00a0 He will fight for us in all areas as we are on\u00a0God’s side.\u00a0\u00a0(Psalm 37:4)\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lamentations is a great example of how God loves his people.\u00a0 Even though they reject Him and go their own way, He will restore a remnant.<\/p>\n

Ezekiel chapters 3 and 18 showed me our responsibility as Christ’s ambassadors to warn the wicked so they may repent and be saved.\u00a0 I am far from\u00a0caring for them as God does.\u00a0 I owe a debt to them to tell them of God’s mercy.\u00a0 Please pray with me to come closer to seeing\u00a0all the world as God sees it and does not want anyone to perish, but made it possible and desires that all people will come to repentance.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/font><\/p>\n\n\n\n

56:1<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0“Be merciful unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me. 2<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Mine enemies <\/font>F166<\/sup><\/font><\/a> would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High. 3<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. 4<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me. 5<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts are against me for evil. 6<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul. 7<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Shall they escape by iniquity? in thine anger cast down the people, O God. <\/font><\/p>\n

8<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book? 9<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me. 10<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0In God will I praise his word: in the LORD will I praise his word. 11<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me. 12<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee. 13<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?”<\/font><\/p>\n

57:1 “<\/em><\/strong>Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. 2<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me. 3<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth. 4<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword. 5<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth. 6<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah. <\/font><\/p>\n

7<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0My heart is fixed, <\/font>F167<\/sup><\/font><\/a> O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. 8<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. 9<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations. 10<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds. 11<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth<\/u>.”\u00a0 (<\/font>Someone has written a melody to which verses 9-11 can be sung.\u00a0\u00a0Perhaps someone could post the key notes of the melody if someone would like them.\u00a0 I am blessed by singing scripture with a melody.\u00a0 It “keeps me singing all day long.”)\u00a0<\/font><\/font><\/address>\n<\/p>\n

59:1 “<\/em><\/strong>Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me. 2<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men. 3<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD. 4<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help <\/font>F171<\/sup><\/font><\/a> me, and behold. 5<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors.
