God Gives Me Songs in the Night January 13, 2014
God gives me songs in the night, even songs of sorrow, and shouts of joy come in the morning (Psalm 30:5). There is no God like our God (1 Chronicles 17:20)
Job 35:10-11
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
10 “But no one says, ‘Where is God my Maker,
Who gives songs in the night,
11 Who teaches us more than the beasts of the earth
And makes us wiser than the birds of the heavens?’
Verse of the Day from BibleGateway.com
Because of this decision we don’t evaluate people by what they have or how they look. We looked at the Messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. We certainly don’t look at him that way anymore. Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other. God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. We’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them. We’re speaking for Christ himself now: Become friends with God; he’s already a friend with you.2 Corinthians 5:19-20 MSG
Psalm 67:1-7
The Message (MSG)
67 1-2 God, mark us with grace
and blessing! Smile!
The whole country will see how you work,
all the godless nations see how you save.
Proverbs 13:3
The Message (MSG)
3 Careful words make for a careful life;
careless talk may ruin everything.
Christ’s Prophecy About Himself and the Fulfillment
John 2:18-19
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
18 The Jews then said to Him, “What sign do You show us [a]as your authority for doing these things?”19 Jesus answered them, “Destroy this [b]temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
John 20:14-16
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
14 When she had said this, she turned around and *saw Jesus standing there, and did not know that it was Jesus. 15 Jesus *said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Supposing Him to be the gardener, she *said to Him, “Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you have laid Him, and I will take Him away.” 16 Jesus *said to her, “Mary!” She turned and *said to Him in [a] Hebrew, “Rabboni!” (which means, Teacher).
